The optical fiber (after being inserted into thespicer) is subject to automated gap setting of fiber ends, measurementof misalignment of the fibers, and fusion splicing.After the splice iscompleted an estimated loss value is shown. There is a built inelectric heater that allows for shrink tube reinforcement.
