Transponder/DME Test Set
The ATC-1200Y3 Test Set contains a built-in crystal-controlled signalgenerator, attenuator and modulators. It is intended to work incombination with a dual trace oscilloscope to give a absolute bench testof the necessary features of civil ATC Transponders and DME sets. TheATC-1200YE system is capable of simulating a DME or Transponder groundstation.
The Test Set has all the RF hardware to test a DME or Transponder. Thishardware has a circulator to lead the transmitter power to a dummy loadand power monitor, and to lead the signal generator to the receiver inthe DME or Transponder. RF monitors are incorporated for looking thetransmitter output and the input to the receiver. A diode switch insequence with the signal generator is used to modular the signalgenerator to acquire above 80 dB on-off ratio for the transponderinterrogation and above 85 dB on-off ratio in DME mode.
