Concrete Cooling
Flake ice is required by ready-mix plants and mass pour concrete construction projects, such as dams and nuclear power plants. These critical pours have a low ratio of surface-to-mass preventing the normal dissipation of the exothermic heat generated during the curing process. Flake ice is used as a direct substitute for water during the mixing of the concrete to speed curing.
