What is a STB Module?
1 pair dropwire STB module with protection gel filled (TP-1301-1G) also called VX connection module provides a connection point between an exchange-side cable pair and a distribution pair. It incorporates a 5-point plug in module to provide continuity and a range of other options.
 
It is equipped with GDT (Gas Discharge Tube) arrester ( You can visit our Product Cagegory here  )  in side the plug-in module, which forms the protection circuit for the protection of exchange room equipments and personnel against over voltage and over current, for mainly as follows:

• The surge voltage caused by lightning on or around the outside lines.

• The short-time AC voltage inducted on external lines, when the power line, the power system or the electric railway system is broken down in the neighborhood of the outside line.

• The outside line directly collides against a 220 V power line.

 
It is especially recommended for outdoor connections where the environmental conditions are extremely aggressive.
 
The connection modules are designed for mounting on a standard DIN rail and can therefore be mounted in a variety of housings in whatever quantities are required. The small footprint (2 cm wide) ensures a compact product.

Use

The VX-connection module provides a connection point between an exchange-side cable pair and a distribution pair. It incorporates a 5-point plug in module to provide continuity and a range of other options. Removal of the plug-in module does not disturb wire connections but makes contacts to them available for testing to both sides of the network. It is especially recommended for
• outdoor connections where the environmental conditions are extremely aggressive,
• terminations where user development characteristics require future flexibility in terms of the type of protection or filtering capabilities.

Technical Parameters

1) Working temperature: -45°C~ 60°C

2) Storage temperature: -50°C~65°C

5) Appearance: the color of all metal and plastic parts is uniform, without any scratch, rust, crusting and cracks.

7) Insulation resistance: under normal ambient conditions, after high temperature test, low temperature test, temperature varing test and humidity heat test, the insulation resistance between any two independent contacts, and/or between contacts and metal parts ≥ 1000MΩ

8) Contact resistance between contacts: under normal ambient conditions, the contact resistance between contacts ≤7 mΩ. After high temperature test, low temperature test, temperature varing test and humidity heat test, the increasing resistance ≤3 mΩ And after inserting the connection cord (or test cord) into the module for 200 times, the increasing resistance ≤3 mΩ

9) Contact resistance between conductor and contact: under normal ambient conditions, the contact resistance between contacts ≤3 mΩ. After high temperature test, low temperature test, temperature varing test and humidity heat test, the increasing resistance ≤2 mΩ. And after terminating for 200 times, the increasing resistance ≤2 mΩ. 

10) Dielectric strength: under normal ambient conditions, after high temperature test, low temperature test, temperature varing test and humidity heat test, the insulation resistance between any two independent contacts, and/or between contacts and metal parts is able to withstand an AC voltage of of 1000V (virtual value) at 45Hz~60Hz sinowave for 1 minute, without spark over and flying arc 

11) Gas tight performance: contact touches the conductor at both sides, and thus forming the gas tight area, while the area of gas tight occupies ≥50% of the touched area on each side.

12) Conductor diameter range: 0.32mm-0.6mm, while insulation ≤ 1.4mm

13) Pulling strength:≥25N while pulling from the vertical side of the contacts

14) Flame retardant performance: all plastic parts are flame retardant, reaching grade of UL FV0

15) Life circle: ≥200 times
