Paint Viscosity Adjustment
The viscosity of the coating used by the roller coater has a great influence on the uniformity and thickness of the coating film. When the coating viscosity is small, the wettability to the roller is large, and the coating distribution on the surface of the coated object is relatively uniform, but it may cause insufficient paint supply and thin coating; when the coating viscosity is large, contrary to the above situation, coating deviation may occur. Thickness and uniformity are not good. Experience has proved that the roll coating method of the roll coater machine deals with coatings with a viscosity between 40-150s.
Control of Coating Film Thickness
The easy control of the film thickness of the roller coater is a major advantage of the roller-coating method. In addition to the aforementioned adjustment of the viscosity of the paint to control the thickness, the metal coating machine can also be achieved by adjusting the rotation speed of the paint roller or the distance between the paint roller and the object to be coated. For the roller-coating method of the same direction roller coater, the paint roller rotates fast, the coating film is thin, and the speed is slow, and the coating film is thick. If the distance between the paint roller and the coated object is large, the coating film will be thick, and vice versa. For the reverse roller coating method, the adjustment is slightly more complicated, and the pressure and speed ratio between the feed roller and the paint roller will affect the thickness of the coating film.
