Submerged melting furnace ,is also known as electric arc furnace or resistance furnace, it is 

mainly used for the reduction of smelting ores, carbon reductants and solvents etc. It is mainly 

for production of ferrosdilicon ,ferromanganese, ferrochromium, tungsten iron, silicon and 

manganese alloy and other ferroalloy.

Accoding to the smelting form of the electrodes, it can be divided into two parts. 

1) Non-consumable electric arc furnace 

2) Self-consuming electric arc furnace. 

According to the control mode of arc length, it can be divided into two parts 

1) Constant arc voltage automatic control electric arc furnace. 

2) Constant arc lenghth automatic control electric arc furnace. 

3) Droplet pulse automatic control electric arc furnace. 

They are classified according to the form of work.
