Product Description

SITAN MP38-WFL Oxygen Activation Logging tools reflects the water flowing condition inside oil pipe, in annular space and outside oil pipe by detecting tine spectrum of activation gamma ray. It can calculate flow rate and volume by analyzing time spectrum of oxygen.

SITAN MP38-WFL Oxygen activation logging tool has three parts: Telemetry (include CCL/Temperature/pressure) and upper detector, Neutron generator and down detector. 

Application:

1. Measurement of injection profiles in general positive injection wells, general anti-injection wells, oil-enclosed injection wells, and lay water injection wells.

2. Measurement of production profile in producing wells.

3. Measurement of injection profile in polymer and ASP flooding fluids

4. Looking for channeling outside the tube to determine the direction of flow and velocity of channeling.

5. Check the mechanical integrity of downhole tools such as casing leakage, packer leakage, etc.

6. Monitor leakage points of casing and packers, etc.

7. Discover casing hole engineering problems and check the effectiveness of secondary or tertiary oil displacement.

Working principle

Radiated by higher than 10.2 MeV neutron energy, the oxygen in the water of nuclear power is activated into radioactive nitrogen nucleus, which has a half-life of 7.13s. Through b-decay and emit 6.13 MeV and 7.12 MeV energy gamma rays, high-energy neutrons and high-energy gamma rays can penetrate wellbore fluid, tubing, casing and cement ring, belonging to the non-contact flow measurement methods (as follow picture).

Features:

1. Compared to turbine flowmeter, easy to assemble and disassemble, not affected by the downhole coordination machinery. The size of Oxygen Activation Logging tools is short and there are no movement components, easy to use and maintain, not affected by sand sticking and flow rate and viscosity of fluid.

2. Compared to isotope logging, not affected by rock property, permeability, hole size of perforation, dirt objects, no radiation hazard, not pollute environment.

3. Compared to electromagnetic flowmeter and ultrasonic flowmeter, not confined by downhole tools and pipe string, not affected by medium and casing damage, can test flow rate and direction of outer-tubing fluid.

4. It has the function of single emission and multiple receiving, and it can measure several parameters in one trip, like water and wastewater flow, well temperature, pressure, natural gamma and CCL, which is convenient for integrated interpretation.

5. It adopts new neutron generator with longer service life, small volume, simple and reliable construction and assembling.
