Gravity Luffing Arm Type Davit Crane including two parts,boat davit and boat winch,it is a special equipment for launching & recovering a lifeboat or life/rescue boat(I.E recovering a lifeboat from sea level and stow it on the parent ship or launch it from stowed position on the parent ship to sea level).
The davit appliance is designed based on the requirements of MSC.216(82)----"2006 Amendments to SOLAS 1974", and MSC.48(66)----"International Codes for lifesaving appliances"as amended MSC.218(82) and IMO resolution MSC.81(70) & MSC.226(82).
