Glass Burette With Stopcock

The burette body is made of a borosilicate glass 3.3 tube with uniform inner diameter and precise graduation. The lower end is connected with a glass stopcock ,rubber tube containing glass beads or PTFE stopcock to control the flow rate of liquid. The bottom end is connected with a pointed glass tube. Types:

1.With glass stopcock is called a cid burette. It is often used to measure the volume of non-strong alkaline dilute solution. It is not suitable to fill alkaline solution, because long-lasting alkaline solution can corrode the glass, leading to the stopcock can not rotate.

2. Rubber tube containing glass beads is called the alkaline burette. It is often used to measure the volume of non-oxidizing dilute solution. It mainly measures the volume of alkaline dilute solution. The a-cid with oxidizing and corrosive rubber tube can not use the alkaline burette.

3. PTFE stopcock is called a-cid and alkaline burette.

Attention:

1.Glass stopcock need to be lubricated with Vaseline or a specialized grease, PTFE stopcock operates smoothly is tight even without lubrication, so there is no grease residue on the burette.

2. It must be noted that there should be no bubbles at the bottom of the burette. Quick discharge of liquid can drive away bubbles in a cid burette, gently lift the pointed glass tube and squeeze the glass ball with finger, which can drive away bubbles in alkaline burette.

3. The a-cid burette should not be used to fill alkaline solution, because the grinding part of the glass is easily corroded by alkaline solution, which makes the stopcock unable to rotate.

4. The alkaline burette is not suitable for the solution which is corrosive (strong oxidizing or acidic) to the rubber tube, such as i-odine, p-otassium p-ermanganate, silver nitrate and hydrochloric a-cid.

5. The burette is different from the measuring cylinder, and its reading increases from top to bottom.

6. The burette should be washed immediately after use.
