Generally speaking, SS 304 and SS316 are two kinds of basic 316 Stainless Steel Wire Mesh Wire Cloth. Generally more resistant than stainless 304,stainless 316 provides a higher corrosion resistance. 304 is the industry standard woven wire mesh stainless steel grade,which has a good oxidation resistance at roughly 870°C to 925°C depending on use and environment.

2.Weaving Types of Different Types

316 Stainless Steel Wire Mesh Wire Cloth has two basic weaving types,including Plain weave & Twill Weave. 

Plain weave
Each warp wire crosses alternately above and below every weft wire and vice versa. Warp and weft wires are normally of the same diameter. 

Twill weave
Each weft wire passes alternately above and below every successive pair of warp wires and vice versa. 
This weave permits a heavier wire diameter to be used than would be possible in a plain weave with similar mesh count.
