Thrust bearings are designed to carry purely axial loads. Single direction thrust bearings consists of loose top and bottom bearing plates or washers with a ball or roller cage in between. Typical applications include vertical shafts and crane hooks.

The thrust ball bearing and Thrust angular contact ball bearing consist of cage with a row of balls, shaft ring and housing ring. They belong to separable bearing and then could be mounted and dismounted from shaft or housing holes easily.

According to the thrust ball bearing could be divided into:

1.Single direction thrust ball bearing (51000 series) could carry single directional axial load and axial displacement of single directional limiting axle.

2.Double direction thrust ball bearing (5200 series) could carry two directional axial load and axial displacement of limiting axle.

According to the different undersurface could be divided into

1.Thrust ball bearing with flat back faces

2.Thrust ball bearing with aligning seat washer.

It has 45° and 60° contact angle for thrust angular contact ball bearing. Such kinds of bearing are especially suitable for such application that need mainly bear axial load and certain radial load. It could eke out thrust ball bearing that could only carry axial load while not the radial load. Radial load of such bearing depends on the contact angular. Normally, the smaller the contact angular, the bigger the radial load carried.
The thrust ball bearing mainly use steel stamping cage. When the outer ring ≥2500mm, it use solid cage.
