GMW High Density Pure Tungsten Rod Heavy Alloy Rods Diameter 1.5mm to 150mm
Tungsten alloys purity is 90 to 98 wt% W. Most tungsten alloys are two-phase structures, the principal phase being nearly pure tungsten in association with a binder phase containing the transition metals plus dissolved tungsten. As a consequence, tungsten alloy rods derives their fundamental properties from those of the principal tungsten phase, which provides for both high density and high elastic stiffness. It is these two properties that give rise to must applications for this family of materials.
The current uses of tungsten alloy are spanning a wide range of consumer, industrial, and government applications
Features of Tungsten Alloy Rods:
Density: (17-18.5) g/cm3
Main Component: W (90-98)% with the addition of nickel and copper or nickel and iron, etc.
Diameter: 1.5mm to 150mm
Length: Max 600mm
Surface Condition: Machined, Ground
Advantages of Tungsten Alloy Rods:
-Excellent mechanical properties such as high vibration-damping capacity and high Young's modulus.
-High thermal conductivity with low thermal expansion coefficient
-Excellent radiation-shielding property
Applications of Tungsten Heavy Alloy:
· High voltage electrical contact
· Electrodes for Resistance Welding
· Protection shields for nuclear radiation such as PET syringe shield, vial shield, isotope container, FDG container, multi leaf collimator
· Balancing weights such as tungsten sinker bar, heavy metal boring bar, vessels crank camshafts, holders for well logging, racing weights, vibration damping and dynamic balancing weights
· Substitutional material for Uranium
· Electroheat upsetting anvil block
