Description:
Tungsten carbide powder, chemical formula is WC, and it is made up of chemically bonded tungsten and carbide. Its superior hardness enables it to replace steel and other metal alloys in a variety of applications.
Features: TC powder obtains highly stable chemical property, good electrical and thermal conductivity. melting point: 2870, boiling point: 6000, relative density: 15.63(18). Tungsten carbide is insoluble in water, hydrochloric acid or sulfuric acid, while it can dissolves in nitric & hydrofluoric mixed acid.
Pure tungsten carbide phase is original brittle, but if blended with certain amount of titanium, cobalt or other metals, toughness will relatively increase.
The final carbon content of the WC Powder depends on the production mode of the hardmetal producer and is one item of the rigid specification, and varies from slightly substoichiometric to stoichiometric (6.13% C) to slightly overstoichiometric. But not only is the carbon content specified but also a series of physical properties including: average particle size, particle size distribution, apparent (bulk) density and homogeneity.
