In the first grinding(crushing)compartment of cement mill,the feed size is 15-25mm,average ball diameter is 70 or 80mm,the biggest size is 90mm,When mill rotates,the ball and materials exert big impact and attrition on liners,so the liners should require enough toughness and hardness.So we usually choose alloy steel OR chromium iron or the similar material.

If there is a pre-grinding system,and with grooved structure liners ,high chrome iron castings is the best suitable materials,it's lifetime over 6 years.

2. The feed end of cement mill could suffer high side impact and wear from the materials and balls,especially on middle area,It should use alloy steel ,such as 5%CrMo,its life time is the 2-3 times than high manganese steel.
