Description:
After the feed air is cleaned of dust and mechanical impurities in air filter, it is compressed in air compressor. The compressed air is then fed into air pre-cooling system to reach saturated condition.
The saturated and compressed air flows into switched molecular sieve adsorbers where such hydrocarbons as H2O, CO2 and C2H2 are adsorbed from the air.
A small part of purified process air is withdrawn to be instrument air and the rest air is sent into main heat exchanger, and then cooled with the expanded waste nitrogen to a saturation temperature with a certain extent moisture- bearing. The cooled air goes into the bottom of nitrogen column for participation in rectification. The nitrogen gas is obtained at the top of nitrogen column, at the same time the saturated and oxygen-rich liquid air at the bottom of column is throttled into the evaporation side of condenser evaporator to condense the nitrogen gas at the top of column, by which the liquid nitrogen is obtained.
The waste nitrogen gas is withdrawn from the top of main condenser evaporator to the expander for expansion and refrigeration after being rewarmed in main heat exchanger. The expanded waste nitrogen goes into main heat exchanger to be re-warmed to the normal temperature and out of cold box, part of which is as the regeneration gas of molecular sieve adsorber, and the rest is discharged to the air.
