KXW1 series intelligent universal circuit breaker

◎Application:

KXW1 series intelligent universal circuit breaker(hereinafter referred to as circuit breaker), apply to distribution network of AC50Hz, rated working voltage lower than 690V, rated current 400A-6300A, for distributing electric and protecting circuit and power apparatus from overload, undervoltage, short circuit, single phase earth fault etc damage, circuit breaker have intelligentized protection function, with high precision optional function, improved power supply reliability. With standard RS485 communication interface, have 4 remote function"remote testing""remote communication""remote control""remote adjust", to satisfy the request of cluster control center and automatic system.

This series circuit breaker have compact structure, high breaking capacity, no arc distance etc features. Circuit breaker can be isolation switch while it without intelligent trip mechanism and sensor.

◎Acceptable working surrounding and installation criteria:

Surrounding max temperature can't exceed +40℃, min temperature can't lower -5℃, and average temperature can't exceed +35℃ in 24h;

Atmospheric relative humidity should lower than 50% when the temperature is +40℃, higher relative humidity is acceptable when the temperature lower than +40℃, max relative humidity can reach 90% when the temperature at +20℃, should have special policy in condensation condition which may caused by temperature changing;

The altitude of installation place should lower than 2000m, circuit breaker vertical gradient can't exceed 5°;

Pollution degree: III

Installation type: IV type: Rated working voltage lower than 390V circuit breaker and undervoltage trip mechanism, power supply transformer initial coil; III type: auxiliary circuit and control circuit

◎Circuit breaker structure introduction:

Fixed type circuit breaker consist of contact system, intelligent controller, handle operation mechanism, electric operation mechanism, mounting panel.

Drawer type circuit breaker consist of contact system, intelligent controller, handle operation mechanism, electric operation mechanism, mounting panel.

As a three dimensional arrangement, the circuit breaker have compact in structure and small in volume feature. Contact system is enclosed in isolating base, each group contact is a chamber, intelligent controller, handle operation mechanism, electric operation mechanism form three independent units in front it, convenient for maintaining.

Drawer type consist of plug in type circuit breaker and drawer base, plug in type circuit breaker in the rail of drawer base. Drawer type circuit breaker have three working position: Connect, test and separate, rotate handle to reach position change, three position indicate needle is in the cross beam of the drawer base.

Connect position: main circuit and secondary circuit power is connected

Test position: Main circuit disconnect by isolating panel, only secondary circuit is connected, can make some necessary testing operation;

Operate: Main circuit and secondary circuit is disconnected.

Drawer type circuit breaker have interlock device, circuit breaker closed while in connect position, it can't close in the middle of connect and test position.

◎Intelligent trip mechanism performance:

Intelligent trip mechanism have 3 types: L type(economic type), M type(standard type), H type(communicated type)

Have overload long delay time inverse time limit, short circuit short delay time inverse time limit(and definite time limit), short circuit instantaneous protection, asymmetric earth(null) fault protection etc four section protection characteristic; short circuit short delay time definite time limit protection, asymmetric earth(null) fault protection of L type is additional optional function.

Setting function: adopt code switch and dial switch to set(L type) or digital display and keypad to set(M,H type),

Indicating function: indicate circuit breaker working current, indicate every protection condition

Self-detecting function: surrounding temperature overheat self diagnosis, micro-controller inner CPU, ROM, RAM and I2C communication self detect.

Fault memory function: Remember trip fault current, delay operation time, fault type which caused by circuit fault.  

Thermal memory function: remember circuit or apparatus thermal condition which caused by overload and short circuit(reset after electric power off)

Test function: Simulate fault status of circuit trip and non trip testing

Additional optional function: Voltage meter function, load monitoring function, all overload alarm signal output function, MCR connect breaking and simulate trip protection function

H type intelligent trip mechanism besides has the M type all functions, have serial communication interface, can form master slaver structure LAN(local area network) system by communication interface, 1-2 sets computer as master station, several intelligent circuit breaker or other communication interface component as slaver station, the system can realize long distance four remote function to circuit breaker unit.

If F,X,M different control power supply voltage should connect different power supply

For avoid shunt trip mechanism and switch on electric magnet unnecessary damage, please tandem connect separately 1 group normally open(shunt) and normally close(switch on) contact when user use it, it not be connected when leave factory;

Terminal 35# can connect power supply(automatic pre-energy storage) directly, also can tandem connect normally open button then connect power supply(manual pre-storage energy);

Terminal 6#,7# can output normally close contact if customer need it;

 When intelligent controller working power supply is DC power supply, need add DC power supply module, power supply module 2 output terminal separately relevant connect secondary wiring terminal 1#(+), 2#(-).

Controller 4 groups independent signal contact output, its function can set by programming unit or special way, can provide total 10 types signal output function, the function and code is as below:

1.Short circuit instantaneous fault trip alarm; 2. ground or electricity leakage fault trip alarm; 3. Electricity unbalance fault trip alarm; 4.short circuit short time delay fault trip alarm; 5.Overload long time delay fault trip alarm; 6.Fault trip alarm; 7. Load monitoring 1 unload output; 8. Load monitoring 2 unload output; 9. System self diagnosis fault alarm; 10. Electric network fault status alarm.

Controller 4 groups contact function is default setting status while leave factory if customers no special request.

◎Controller setting

Controller long time delay current setting: Press "clear" button, then press "set" button till long time delay status indicate light on, display long time delay leave factory current setting value, normally is "In", current setting range is 0.4-10In, can press "+" "-" button as required, will have ﹤2% interval increasing or decrease by each button pressing, till reach closest current requirement. Then press "storage" button one time , storage indicate light on and then off, means long time delay current setting value finish storage.

Long time delay time setting: Press "set" button after finish long time delay current setting, long time delay time status indicate light on, display long time delay time leave factory setting value, can press "+" "-" button as required, till reach closest time requirement. Then press "storage" button one time, storage indicate light on and then off, means long time delay time setting value finish storage. Load monitor, short time delay, instantaneous, earth fault etc protection operation value setting and operation time, setting method as above, only relative indicate light different. Earth time setting on "OFF" position, means fault status, earth only alarm non trip; instantaneous setting on "OFF" position, means cancel this protection; controller lock button function automatic and into fault treatment state if have fault signal during setting process.

Those controller parameter, can't cross set. Controller protection priority as below: long time delay﹤short time delay﹤instantaneous. About doublication switch, ILC2 setting value less than ILC1, after finish set controller parameter, then press "clear" button one more time, or power off reset, makes controller in running state.

◎Controller test:

After finish set controller parameter, before circuit breaker working, user can test circuit breaker all protection function, controller testing have trip/non-trip option, press "trip" button to test, circuit breaker breaking, press "non-trip" button to test, then won't send trip signal, circuit breaker won't trip.(Note: L type product only have trip test, press "test" button, then controller will send instantaneous operation signal, circuit breaker breaking)

Overload testing, press "set" button to long time delay status, check overload set value then to other current status, press "+" "-" button, adjust current to >1.3Ir1 current, press test button into overload testing status, controller according to inverse time limit rule to time delay operate, and indicate fault type and testing status. Other characteristic testing similar as it, press "clear" after finish testing then into normal working status, also must need press mechanical "reset" button, to close circuit breaker.

◎Controller other usage rule:

Controller in setting , testing status, if not press button in 1min, will clear automatically and into working status, if have fault status, will lock button function and into fault treatment state.

a.        Set test:

After pressing controller "clear" button, press "set" button continuously(under fault free condition), display circularly all status and relative setting current and time value. Please press "clear" button after finish testing (if not press button in 1min, will clear automatically and into working status)

b.        Electric network working current and voltage test

After pressing controller "clear" button, press "select 1" button ("select" button) continuously(under fault free condition), display circularly all working current value and earth current value, normally display max current; press "select 2" button continuously , display circularly all voltage value, normally display max voltage

c.        Reset

Should press controller "clear" button before circuit breaker switch on, let circuit breaker into normal working condition, then press mechanical "reset" button to switch on circuit breaker.

◎Note: Controller choose M type, leave factory setting range as below:

Long time delay Ir1 set in 1.0In, 1.5Ir1 operation time setting is 15s

Short time delay Ir2 set slightly higher than 8Ir1, definite time limit is 0.4s

Instantaneous Ir3 set in 12In

Earth fault Ir4 set in 0.4In, operation time set "OFF" only display and circuit breaker not disconnect.

◎Intelligent controller panel structure:

1-Reset button: Should press reset button after circuit breaker trip to switch on, otherwise circuit breaker can't be closed

2-Current(voltage) : display time, can display current(voltage) or time value

3-"select" button: can display circularly all current(voltage) value in normal working condition, fault status or fault detect status display circularly fault current or time value.

4-LED indicator: can indicate all status and classification

5-Clear button: Must press this button after controller setting, fault testing or before circuit breaker switch on

6-Set button: For test or setting all kind protection characteristic current or time. Pressing this button would indicate circularly all status

7-Fault detect button: After clear controller, press this button can display and indicate last fault status and fault current or time value. Can press "select" button to detect fault current or time circularly.

8-Trip, non-trip button: For testing

9-Storage,+,- button: For setting current or time

◎Intelligent controller panel structure:

 KXW1 series intelligent universal circuit breaker

1-Reset button: If need re-close circuit breaker, should press this button after circuit breaker fault or trip testing.

2-Load indicate: Display overload long time delay current

3-Long time delay, short time delay, time delay, earth fault current setting button, rotary knob calibration value can set all protection current

4-Fault indicator: indicate fault type

5-Long time delay overload protection time setting button: dial switch position to adjust time

6-Short time delay protection time setting button: Dial switch position to adjust time.

7-Earth fault protection time setting button: dial switch position to adjust time

8-Clear button: Must press this button after controller setting, testing and default, let controller into normal working status.

9-Fault testing button: Press this button after circuit breaker fault tripping, can indicate fault tripping reason. Have fault memory function after cutoff electricity

10-Test button: Can detect cooperation condition between controller and circuit breaker

L type setting method:

1.        Long time delay setting:

a.        Dial Ir1 switch setting current from 0.4-1In

b.        Dial tL button setting time 30s,60s,120s,240s

c.        Dial Ir1 switch to OFF position means exit this function

2.        Short time delay setting

a.        Dial Ir2 switch setting current from 3-10In

b.        Dial ts button setting time 0.2s,0.4s,

c.        Dial Ir2 switch to OFF position means exit this function

3.        Instantaneous setting

a.        Dial Ir3 switch setting current from 3-10In or 10-20In

b.        Dial Ir3 switch to OFF position means exit this function

4.        Earth fault protection setting

a.        Dial Ir4 switch setting current from 0.2-0.8In

b.        Dial tG button setting time 0.2s,0.4s,0.6s,0.8s

c.        Dial Ir4 switch to OFF position means exit this function

5.        Controller into working condition: should press clear button after finish adjusting all controller parameter
