Brief introduction and main application of Silicochromium alloy
More than 90% Silicochromium alloy is used as reducing agent in melting medium carbon ferrochromium, low-carbon ferrochromium and micro-carbon ferrochrome in electro-silicothermic process. In addition, Silicochromium alloy can also be used as deoxidier and alloying agent in steelmaking. With the development of oxygen steelmaking, it has been increasingly widely applied to deoxidizing out chrome in steel slag and in additional part with silicon chromium alloy
Silicochromium alloy properties
Silicochromium alloy is Chromium and iron silicide, a kind of ferrochrome which contains enough silicon.
Chromium silicide is more stable than carbide, so when silicon content in Fe - Cr - Si alloy is increasing, carbon content declined .
