Portable Explosives Detector and Detection for Common and Home Explosives
Introduction:
Mistral's Explosives technology is based on wet chemistry, which gives an immediate color reaction when the reagent comes into contact with minute amounts of explosives. The kit includes equipment for sampling/collecting from surfaces or unknown substances for immediate analysis and evaluation.
The detection equipment is able to detect liquid and solid explosives. It is also used as a technical evaluation test in soil remediation on hazardous material "clean-up" sites.
The sampling kit contains testing papers with sticky side for efficient collection of the suspicious material or the traces, aerosol sprays and / or dropper bottles or Ampoules (depends on the kit configuration) as well as a verification pad (for verification and demonstration of the positive color). Full color instructions are supplied with each kit, which contain a full written and graphical instructions manual, and full color chart of the expected color reaction as a reference color guide.
To operate the system you only need three simple steps:

Detection equipment
The system is dedicated for the detection of common explosives (e.g.TNT, RDX, HMX, PETN, picric acid, tetryl, nitrates, perchlorates, chlorates etc.) and homemade explosives (e.g. TATP and other peroxide explosives, HMTD etc.).
The detection equipment is portable, easy to use and have a low false positive alarm frequency.
It is durable to weather, such as rain, cold, heat etc. The detection procedure takes less then few minutes.

The detection equipment is portable and possible to carry by a single user. It packed in a way that allows easy and rapid handling of the equipment.
Detection capabilities
include both pre-and post-blast explosives materials on solid surfaces, skin, clothing, vehicles, soils, and dried or partially dried liquid form. Samples to be tested can be collected by the test paper (printed with glue pattern for better residues and traces pick up), after that the reagents are applied to the sample collected on the paper.
Color chart is provided to guide interpretation of any color changes (positives).
Soil analysis are conducted by filtering soil with solvent through filter paper onto a test paper, allowing filtered substance to dry and then testing with the reagents– adequate kit with specific elements and consumables is provided
The kits used by EOD units, military field personnel, prisons personnel, security personnel, First Responder units and others with responsibilities related to protection and investigation of traditional or IED explosive threats/risks.
