WBB Series Of High Voltage Reactive Power Compensation Cabinet
Ⅰ. General
WBB series high voltage reactive power compensator is a capacitive reactive power compensator for improving the power factor, adjusting the voltage and lowering the consumption of the network, which is mainly applicable to the electric power system of voltage class 6KV to 10KV.
Because most of the loads in the electric power system are perceptual and more and more power electron equipments are used in industrial and mining enterprises, the power factor of the electric network is quite low. The lower power factor reduces the use factor of the equipment, while increases the investment of the power supply and the line loss, as well as harms the quality of the voltage and shortens the service life of the equipment.
To improve the factors unbeneficial to the production caused by quite low power factor of the electric network, must improve efficiently the power factor of the electric network. Obviously, if these reactive power are all supplied by the generator and transmitted by distant is not reasonable, also impossible in usual. The reasonable method is to produce the reactive power where it is required. Most of the loads are asynchronous motors in the actual electric power system. Its equivalent circuit can be taken as the series circuit of the resistance and the inductance, while its phase position of the voltage and the current is bigger with lower power factor. After parallel connecting the capacitor, the phase position of the voltage and the current become smaller in order to improve the power factor.

Ⅴ. Capacity determination
Determine the compensation capacity first before selecting the type, and then determine the type of the compensator according to the electric network voltage on site.
The followings are the determination methods for the compensation capacity:
1. Theoretical calculation
Determine the compensation capacity by theoretical calculation according to the rated parameter of the motor or the actual measured data. Due to the compensating principle: the compensation capacity can be calculated as the following formula:
