Style RX ring joint gaskets

RILSON manufactures and supplies a large variety of ring joint gaskets. The RTJ standard size gaskets are manufactured in accordance to API-6A and ASME B16.20 specifications.

STYLE RX

RX ring gaskets are similar in shape to the standard octagonal ring joint gasket but their cross section is designed to take advantage of the contained fluid pressure in effecting a seal. They are both made to API 6A and interchangeable with standard octagonal rings for oil field drilling and production applications in API 6B flanges. RX is used at pressures up to 15,000 psi.

(A plus tolerance of 0.008 inches for width and height is permitted, provided the variation in width or height does not exceed 0.004 inches throughout its entire circumference)

Angle of 23°^^................................±1/2° 

Note: Only Rings RX82 through RX91 have a pressure passage hole through the cross section. Center line of hole is located on the mid-point of the width flat. 
Hole diameter shall be as follows:
RX82 through RX85...............................0.06"
RX86 and RX87......................................0.09"
Rings RX88 through RX91......................0.12"

Applications

• Used for high pressure applications.
• The Style RX is designed to fit the same groove design as a standard style  R making joints interchangeable
• The  Style RX has an increased height and utilizes the internal system pressure to energize and improve the seal as internal pressure increase
