Lost wax cast method

 

In lost wax method, one model produces one cast part.

First, a wax injection machine creates a wax pattern through a wax die. Patterns are then assembled onto a runner system which carries the pattern through the remainding process. Then, layers of ceramic and stucco are applied to form a hard shell repeatedly. The molds are then heated to remove wax inside and placed into a sand bed. From there, molten metal is poured into the hollow shell.

Finally, the ceramic shell is knock off and the castings are cut from the cluster, heat treated and surface finished to meet customer specifications.
