ceramic fiber wool is manufactured from high purity raw materials:alumina powder, silica sand for the high temperature grades and zircon sand is also used. The ceramic mixture is heated in an electric furnace to temperatures in excess of 2000 centigrade degree and the stream of molten material is drawn into fibres by eithter spinning or blowing.

Product Character

Ceramic Fiber is a raw friction material mainly used in making brake lining,  brake tile, brake block,clutch facing etc. It has following character:

Ceramic Fiber has stable thermal capability and excellent friction coefficient can be kept stable from room to high temperature which assure smoothness of braking. Ceramic Fiber is low abrasive, low noise, low shot content and does not damage the dual parts of brake system and there is hardly any friction noise during braking. Ceramic Fiber is no static-formed sphere, easy to open.

Application: Ceramic Fiber is mainly used in friction material such as high quality brake lining, brake title, brake block, clutch facing etc.

Application Guidance:

The main step by using ceramic fiber villus in the formulation is to open the ceramic fiber in advance. Sufficient fiber opening is a key factor in the processing. Wet-processing is easy to open the ceramic fiber, usually put it in the mixed material at later stage. The recommend blender mixer by putting the mixed material in dry method is: Vertical type, high speed stirring mill, pear rake type blender mixer or other opening stirring mills. Favorable opening effect also dependent on other material in the formulation. Please refer to the method during the opening as follows:

1. Change the mixing material in dry-method from 1 time to 2 times. At the beginning of mixing material, add some high proportion filler, such as metal fiber, barium sulfate etc. Then add other material after stirring it about 2-3 minutes in order to reach the desired effects.


2. Please reduce the metal fiber usage amount at the first stage. Because more metal fiber usually make the fiber snarling, so the mixed material can not reach to desired effect.


3. Lowering the stirring mill load. If there are a lot of raw material in the stirring mill, the machine will be under great load, the reamer can not make the material fully split-flow. It will influence the opening effect.

4. Proper extending the time of mixing material, usually from 3-4minutes, but time should not be too long to make the fiber ball hardening.


5. Ceramic fiber matching usually decided by different variety, recommend dose of material is from 5~9%.
