It can help to gain a great beneficiation efficiency when it comes to blocks of hematite, siderife, and limonite.This gravity separation is widely used in the iron ore separation. Mordern gravity separation goes to be perfect to be used in tungsten, tin ore as well coarse blocks of iron ore, esp. for the hematite with fine size embedded. In 1977, Ma'anshan Steel Company built a large-scale magnetic-gravity beneficiation factory for this kind of iron ore. And in the China's ore resources, there are lots of weak magnetic iron ore with fine size embedded and the gravoty separation for this kind of ore gains a great development.

1) gravity separation for coarse iron embedded

This kind of iron ore is very easy to enrich, and usually flow sheet of ore-washing, desliming, jigging, and gravity-medium separation has been used to gain the high-quality iron concentrate. The main machines for the iron roe graavity separation cover jiggers, heavy-medium separators.

2) gravity separation for fine iron embedded

This fine size embedded iron ore is very common in China, and the separation methods and equipment has been developed. gravity separation, esp. fine size gravity separation has gained new develpomeny , and sluice, spiral washing machine, and centrifugal separator has bee used in the flow sheet for the iron ore beneficiaton gaining a great beneficiation efficiency.

Gravity separation is adopted to upgrade Fe when it comes to limonite iron ore of coarse inlay while for fine limonite granules of smaller than 50meshes, gravity separation does not work so well. Gravity separation is widely used in medium and small limonite beneficiation factories with its low plant investment, low operation cost, large handling capacity and good beneficiation efficiency. For the same handling capacity, the plant investment is about 1/10 of that for magnetizing roasting processing line.

    

For iron ore, its inlay is usually very coarse and gravity separation is mainly adopted to upgrade. The core gravity separator for iron ore concentrating is jigger. And it works on basic of density difference between iron and its attached barren rock to gain iron concentrate of big density & high grade and barren rock of small density and little iron.

Crushers, vibrating screens, feeders and other assistant will be involved in a whole iron ore washing line to do the job of beneficiating iron. Usually, crushing, screening, gravity separation, dewatering shall be included in the iron mining beneficiation line. For crushing, jaw crusher or cone crusher will be used, while circular vibrating screen and linear vibrating screen will be needed for screening, jiggers of different models will be involved for different ores as gravity separators and dewatering screen will be used after gravity separation in dewatering processing.
