The downhole tester named Select Tester valve used for drill stem testing is a full-opening, annulus pressure-operated valve. With applied pressure, the tool can be locked open and then returned to the normal operating sequence at any time. It permits measuring multi pleclosed-in pressures in cased holes where pipe manipulation is restricted and a full-opening string is required.
The nitrogen chamber is charged at the surface to a selected pressure determined by surface temperature and
bottom hole temperature and pressure.
