Overview
With the elevation of modern industrial manufacturing level, equipment or product parts employ vast irregular curved surface, which requires a great number of 3D digital measurement for curved surface during the stages of design, fabrication, detection, test, etc. Therefore, the fast, effective, accurate and movable 3D measurement technology and reverse designing technology are in demand urgently.
RMS 3D Optical dense point-cloud measurement system uses 3D optical measurement technology with heterodyne multiple-frequency phase-shift. Compared with conventional method of Gray code plus phase-shift, RMS surface scanner has such advantages as higher accuracy, wider single breadth (from 150mm to 3m), stronger anti-jamming capacity, less influenced by the brightness/darkness on the surface of object. No developer is required to spray on the object. The system is able to measure the object with sophisticated surface details.
Know-why
When an object is being measured, optical grating projector projets multiple frequency grating on the abject. Two cameras with certain angle capture images synchronously, to which decoding and phase calculation shall be conducted. With the help of stereo matching technology and the triangulation method theory, the 3D coordinates of all pixels in the public view can be obtained.
Applications
Reverse Design: Obtaining the surface point cloud data of workpiece rapidly and creating 3D digital model, thereby achieving the purpose of rapid products design.
Product Detection: It can be used in production line quality control and shape/position detection. It can also check castings, forgings, stamping parts, dies, injection molded parts, wood products and other objects.
Other application: cultural relics scanning and 3D representation, orthodontics, plastic surgery and maxillofacial surgery.
