Powder coating is the technique of applying statically charged dry paint to apart which is then heated in an oven tomelt and curethe paint. The final cured coating is the same as a2-packwet paint.The powdered paint is normally applied by using a powder feed system and gun toelectrostatically charge and spray the powder onto the part. Forsomeuses, such aspipes, the part being coated is dippedinto afluidised bed of powder. The part is then placed in a curing oven.During the curing process a chemical cross-linking reaction is triggered and it is this chemical reaction which gives the powder coating many of its desirable properties.
