Gum base, one water insoluble thermoplastic material, it can show various appropriate masticatory performance and film-forming performance at human body temperature. Great adhesion by heating and softening, it can absorb a large amount of soluble sweetener and flavor through efficient mixing with grape syrup as the medium. Gum base is the delivery system to carry sweeteners, flavors and any other desired substances in chewing gum and bubble gum.
Different kinds of gum base are used in different types of gum, such as sheet chewing gum, granular chewing gum, block shaped bubble gum, ball bubble gum.
Main Principle:
Processing a gum base mainly for the mixing process, the front half section is shear mixing, the second half is hot melt mixing. Because the gum base, very strong viscoelastic material, must use the shearing hybrid mechanical, generally for Kneader, especially the bubble gum base mixing, kneader needs more strong horsepower. Processing the viscosity and elasticity raw materials, masticate first, and then mix with other easily melt raw materials. Melting temperature controlled below 130 degrees Celsius, In order to avoiding part based agent and softener thermal decomposition, qualitative changing, low quality.
After mixing is completed, put the molten state gum base on the disk, according to the unit weight. Cool and solidified to massive gum base, or put it into the cold water cooling, through the extruder mouth, with high-speed rotary knife cutting into thin granular gum base.
