Heat Treatment:
Solution heat treatment, heat at 1900f +/- 25f (1038c +/- 14c) cool to below 90f (32c) to allow material to fully martensite. Small sections under 3" may be oil cooled, sections larger should be rapidly air cooled (fan cooling). Parts should not be used in this condition, they should be age hardened between 900f and 1150f. Toughness, impact strength as well as stress corrosion cracking may occur without aging.
