Description: Peppermint extract is an herbal extract of peppermint (Mentha x piperita) made from the essential oils of peppermint leaves. Peppermint is naturalized from Europe and is found in damp places from Nova Scotia to Minnesota and south to Florida and Tennessee. It is largely cultivated, principally in Indiana, Michigan, Oregon, Washington, and California, for the production of peppermint extract. It is commonly used in cooking, as a dietary supplement, and as an herbal or alternative medicine. The powder is obtained by extracting from dried or fresh leaves and the stem of the plant using ethanol.
Main Components: Menthol, with content of about 77 to 78%, followed by Menthone, with content of 8 to 12%, also containing Menthylacetate, Camphene, Limonene, Isomenthone, Pinene, and Menthenone.
