Applications of Gabion
In some beaches,people install gabion to prevent surging waves.
And some projects make the gabion extend to the sea, which is applied to banks for preventing waves.
The wire used for weaving such kind gabion often is the wire with high galvanization and wrapped with plastics, and to further increases its antisepsis property.
Gabion cages are extensively applied to inland rivers,and their main function is to reinforce the riverbank and guide water current. The gabion cages for reinforcement always are put in the inner side of the banks, mainly in the places where the watercurrent is torrent. In this way, the watercurrent scours the gabion cages, not scouring the banks directly, therefore, it would alleviate the damages on the banks.
To lay some soil on the gabion , so the grass would grow on it . It also will naturally subside dust and grow dust.

Retaining wall is a kind of building piled up by gabion cages used for retaining.
The component of such kind retainning wall is to fill rocks which are proportioned in size in the the gabion cages. So, there would be some certain porosity. Due to the slit between rocks , it can discharge the water in the soil behind the wall and beneath the banks.
