Manufactured to the same close tolerances as the radial type, but designed with contact angles of 15, 30, and 40 deg to accommodate greater thrust loads.
A common choice, at higher precision levels, for applications such as machine tool spindles where both accuracy and high thrust loads are present. They are typically mounted in pairs, providing thrust capacity in either direction and good rigidity for applications where shaft movement is critical.
Double row assemblies offer shaft rigidity, compactness, and higher radial capacity as well as moderate thrust capacity in both directions.
