The ELM322 OBDII Interface,allows you to talk to your VPW (10.4KHz J-1850 VPW) standard OBDIIequipped vehicle using an RS232 serial connection. It is typically usedin US cars from General Motors and some from Daimler Chrysler. Ittransparently converts between a VPW J-1850 data stream and standardASCII characters, allowing trouble codes and operating parameters to beeasily retrieved without the need for special software. No knowledge ofdata formatting, error checking, bus initiation etc. is needed either,as the ELM322 handles all of it for you. The present version of theELM322 (v2.0) provides several programmable features that the previousversions did not offer.
