Name: Kempas (Koompassia spp.)
Name in commercial purpose: Kempas, Kayu, Manggis, Tualang.
Origin of live wood: Malaysia, Indonesia.
Characteristic: Air-dry density: 0.76-0.93g/cm3. Rough and heavy
structure and hard woodiness, high strength, good anti-shocking
performance, pink or garnet, medium corrosion resistance, strong
tensile performance after being dried. Interlaced grain, difficult
to process. Suitable to make furniture, flooring, house girder and
crosstie, etc.
